Priscilla Adoyo, Ph.D. — Director, Center for Peace-Building and Conflict Transformation

When Priscilla Adoyo enrolled as a student at Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) in 1985, she was only one of two women studying theology at that time. Today she is returning to the campus ofNEGST to direct a new center that will apply Biblical perspective to conflicts in African societies. After earning her M.Div. at NEGST, Priscilla earned another Master's degree in Conflict Transformation at Eastern Mennonite University and then a doctorate in missiologyat Fuller Seminary. Her research was on Nigerian church leaders and their ability to respond to ethno-religious conflict.

Funding Challenge
The Center for Peace Building and Conflict Resolution is one arm of the Institute for Study of African Realities at NEGST (AID). Its focus will be on both academic and nonformal educational opportunities for pastors, scholars and lay leaders in the church. Start-up funds and support for faculty like Dr. Adoyo are urgently needed for the Center to flourish and to being preparing leadership for the many conflict situations across Africa.
